Patrick Mohr x K1X “DCAC”

Vanguard street-fashion designer Patrick Mohr has exclusively designed and reinterpreted the “DCAC” sneaker silhouette for basketball brand K1X. The shoe will undergo an inaugural introduction at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin, January 2010.

The brand Patrick Mohr stands for extravagance, provocation and individuality. K1X represents urban culture and personifies street basketball – both brands couldn’t be more diverse, despite the fact that both institutions are based in Munich, Germany.

The Patrick Mohr vs. K1X sneaker is all black and consists fully of leather – even the laces. Graphic shapes are Patrick Mohr’s trademark. Therefore the shoes’ exteriors are marked with an imprint in the form of multiple triangles. A distinct characteristic of the sneaker is the wooden triangle which is located on the shoes’ tongue and also doubles as an accessory. The individuality of the shoe is completed by an innovative leather strap which is attached to the upper side of the rear part of the shoe. It can be fixed to the ankle or lower leg or be worn as a wrist-accessory.

Patrick Mohr: “I am thrilled by how we managed to combine two polar brand cores into one very convincing result.”

Pete Kreidlmayer (Lead Footwear Designer K1X): “We are always looking for that extra edge. Patrick got more edge than U2. Gotta love it.”

The Patrick Mohr vs. K1X DCAC will be available from August 2010 in a limited collectors edition of 150 pairs. The model will be sold at selected destinations, which also offer Patrick Mohr’s in-line collections.
