Huy and me headed up to the Dortmund airport with our PR lady Tina and our german distribution guys Timo and Cedric on Monday 19th to catch our easyJet flight to one of the if not the most beautiful city in Europe Barcelona for showing at the semi-annual Bread & Butter tradeshow for selected Brands.

The good lady at the easyJet counter didn’t say anything to our completely overweight luggage which was packed with our whole FW 2009 collection and our private stuff. I usually don’t leave the country without at least one pair of spare sneakers but this time I had no chance to pack more stuff into my trolley so I only had my Half Cabs which turned out to be a bad choice for a pair of shoes that is supposed to make me survive the wake-up-early-go-to-the-show-eat-nothing-the-whole-day-smoke-like-a-chimney-go-to-the-city-grab-a-bite-to-eat-take-a-shower-party-till-am-wake-up-early-again-week.

Whatever, we had a pretty mellow flight to BCN and were all welcomed by warm and sunny weather. I don’t know if it’s only me but the first thing I do after landing is switching on my mobile to be re-connected to the world. Obviously something french fellas don’t do because at the bagagge drop off Cedric realized that he had somehow forgot his blackberry in the plane. As he couldn’t get back to the gates and to the plane because the boarding for the flight from BCN back to Dortmund was about to start, some airline service guy had to rush to his seat of the plane to check if his bb was still there. But no chance, his mobile was gone…Stupid is as stupid does. Better switch on your mobile after landing.

We finally got into the bus to get into our appartment which was like a five minute walk to the tradeshow at Placa Espana. We’re lucky bastards. After checking in we headed to the city to say hello to Trust Nobody and to purple paint for our booth. Monday night was relaxed and we went to bed pretty early not knowing that we will be going to bed early the last time for the next six days…..

The limited spray can will be available in Carhartt stores and authorized dealers very soon.

I am pretty sure most of the readers have heard about this rumor of Winter 09 being the last Bread&Butter in Barcelona. This rumor has now officially been announced being the truth. I would like to thank BCN for all the good times that we had in the last years showing, partying, chilling, skating or whatevering in this wonderful, incredible city. I hope that I will be able to see all of you good guys out there in Barcelona again whether there is a tradeshow or not. I’ll be back that’s for sure.

I wish I could have spent more time with them as they were and are really nice, funny and helpful guys. On top of that I really dig Yoshi’s work and the handdrawn designs he’s doing for FF. He also showed me some of his future projects for FF and other collaborations which you surely will hear about in the near future.
